lyrics

Well the words they came to you easy
But they let you down in the end
I’ve seen the end of lovers
I’ve seen the end of friends
They’re all enemies in the bedroom
And even more reside up stairs
You’re so far beyond self-control
It’s been this way for years
I’ve soaked myself in alcohol
I’ve worshiped every idol
I’ve pissed on every monument
I’ve prayed to Oscar Wilde
I sent my sense of self worth
You can sign for it COD
This mea culpa bullshit is bringing me down
Maybe tomorrow will bring me one more day of sun
No consequence, no self-reflection, just living on the run
Well they’re coming for your money, they’re coming for you skin
I can hear them through the darkness sitting here at 3am
In a world of dull reflections
Where the wounded walk on ice
Where the care of perfect strangers
Is as strange as paradise
Can you love me without touching
4Can you help me without love
I can’t imagine someone close enough
Maybe tomorrow will bring me one more day of sun
No consequence, no self-reflection, just living on the run
Well maybe I’ll turn to Jesus, maybe I’ll cash it all in
I can feel the darkness coming, sitting here at 3am
It’s coming It’s coming Kill me

In August 2018, the band announced that Alex Koshak would be stepping in on drums as they headed into the studio to record their next album. The band’s name is a nod to Walt Whitman’s “Leaves of Grass”: “I sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world. ... more
